"BÁNH CANH CUA" 30 YEARS INSIDE BEN THANH MARKET

The bowl of Mrs. Hai's “Banh canh cua Bà Hai” is not too special but attracts a large number of tourists because of its delicious taste and suitable prices.

Mrs. Hai's “Banh canh cua” has existed for 30 years in the corner of the East gate- Ben Thanh market, district 1. If every banh canh cua in the city center has an average price of 65,000 VND, but she sells with the price is 50,000 VND. This is also the reason why her food is always crowded with customers, although there are some stalls selling this dish in the market.

Every day at noon, Mrs. Hai (now 70 years old) will be in the market. Before that, she went to the market to choose the best fresh ingredients and then prepared.

Ms. Hai's stall is just enough to set up a table so that the glass storage cabinet looks eye-catching. A small pot of water is placed in front of it to scoop up about 10 bowls.

Ben Thanh Market is a popular tourist attraction. But Hai's visitors are mainly local people and small traders in the market. Sometimes foreign tourists also come to try. When you come here, you will be given a plastic chair to sit on. The shop only sells “Banh canh cua”. Guests can order more such as more crab, more shrimps or more pork.

Inside a full of “banh canh cua” , there is crab meat, a shrimp, a few pieces of chopped pork . The water is very hot. The price for each meal is 50,000 VND. You can also order a higher price for more meat.
